Finally, John wrote to Gaius in 3 John 1: 5-8, “ Beloved, it is a faithful thing you do in all your efforts for these brothers, strangers as they are, who testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God. For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.”

We are called to support through our giving our Mission Partners. Some of you make ongoing gifts to our Missionaries and that’s great. But together, through our fellowship, we can provide even more support.

Together, let’s raise $5000 for our Mission Partners!

Adult Education, Palm Sunday, April 13

Our Palm Sunday session this Sunday April 13, 2025 at 9:45am will focus on the 4 Gospel accounts of the Crucifixion and seeing where the 4 accounts do not contradict each other-they expand upon each other. Fred Carlson will lead this session in the pews.
Our Adult Ed sessions have concluded on the sermons of the Book of Acts of the Apostles.
Thanks to Tim Lyon, Jason Ingrassia and Craig Huntington for their sharing of their gifts and bringing us the core messages of these sermons in the early days of the church.
The sermons in Acts were messages that changed the world. When we talk about Christian outreach with POWER this is what we are talking about. We believe we are strengthened and more prepared to share our testimonies powerfully in this time and place we live within…to those around us who need the Lord.
Adult Ed meets in the pews from 9:45 to 10:35 am. All lessons are stand-alone — come when you can!
Reminder: To purchase your own copy of a Book of Common Prayer (BCP), 2019 Anglican Church of North America edition, contact: https://anglicanhousepublishers.org/the-shop/
BCPs start at around $30 for the editions like our pew prayer books. More expensive covers and bindings are available.
The link to the Hillsdale free online lessons on Ancient Christianity we watched led by Father David on 1/19, 1/26, 2/2 is here. The lessons we watched were 1, 3, 4. Lesson 4 is a terrific synopsis of the historic impact of the real Jesus on the land and times of his life.
Hope to see you with us in adult ed this Sunday!

Adult Ed Sunday, March 23, 2025

Adult Ed continues featuring these sermons of POWER as our church looks at confronting the world around us these days.
The sermons in Acts were messages that changed the world. When we talk about Christian outreach with POWER this is what we are talking about. Be grounded in the prime message of the Cross of Christ and you will be prepared to share more powerfully in this time and place we live within…to those around us who need the Lord.
Tim Lyons will present  the sermon of Stephen in Acts 7 this coming Sunday March 23.
Adult Ed meets in the pews from 9:45 to 10:35 am. All lessons are stand-alone — come when you can!
As homework this week, Tim has asked the class to read through Acts 6 and 7 three times. Read through it all at once. Do this three times.

Adult Education – Sermons from the Book of Acts

Please stay with us after the first service or come early if you attend the second service to begin an uplifting series as we walk through the Sermons from the Book of Acts together. By close examination of these early sermons that ‘turned the world upside down’ converting hearers to Jesus we can see the major themes of Christian hope emerge. This can empower our own sharing of the Gospel message today!

This Sunday February 16 we will be looking at Peter’s first pronouncements from Acts 2, 3, 4.
Next Sunday February 23 we will be looking at Peter’s outreach to the Gentiles from Acts 10, 11.

Handouts provided. Join us from 9:45am to 10:35am this week and every week!

Bishop Alex’s Visit

Bishop Alex will be visiting St. Alban’s on Sunday, February 16th.  In honor of his visit, there will be a pot luck luncheon after the second service as well as a canned good collection for our local food bank.  Please add your name to the signup for lunch, noting how many are coming and your dish to share.  As you gather your canned goods please check for expiration dates.

Women’s Service Group

Please plan to join St. Alban’s Women as we come together on Friday, February 7th for fellowship, an update on Veno and the Overseas Nursing Scholarship fund, and a chance to plan our service projects for the coming year. We look forward to seeing you at 10:00 AM this Friday in the church hall!
