St. Alban’s Summer series on “Strengthening Our Evangelism”

The first two sessions have had excellent attendance and many compliments!

These sessions meet in the fellowship hall between services from 9:45-10:35.  Coffee, beverages and breakfast snacks are offered.

All are welcome; all are encouraged to attend, from young recently confirmed teens all the way up to our eldest members of the congregation. The group will be studying Scripture texts on evangelism and considering various personal approaches to engage our family, friends, and neighbors with the joy of Jesus. Let’s do our part and help revive our community and church by reaching others for Christ. These sessions will enable you to identify your particular God-given gifts in honing your specific outreach to others-gifts that we frequently never explore! We expect the sessions to run weekly through late August.

Summer Adult Ed Series – June 22nd

Beginning on Sunday June 22, between services, there will be an evangelism class in the fellowship hall between services from 9:45-10:35.  All are welcome; all are encouraged to attend, from young recently confirmed teens all the way up to our eldest members of the congregation. We will be studying Scripture texts on evangelism. We will look at how Jesus evangelized as well as Paul.  Let’s do our part and help revive our community and church by reaching others for Christ. We expect the sessions to run weekly through late August led by Jason Ingrassia.



The Living Church Annual Essay Contest In Christian Wisdom


 






















Our 16th annual Student Essays

in Christian Wisdom Competition is now accepting submissions.


Any Anglican or Episcopal student enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program (BA, MDiv, MA, or equivalent diploma; not ThM or other secondary degrees) in a seminary or theological college of the Anglican Communion or accredited ecumenical equivalent may submit an essay of 1,500 to 2,000 words.


We are looking for a well-argued essay that evinces the joy of the Christian faith and a mastery of a classic discipline of theology (Bible, history, systematics, moral theology,

or liturgy). We welcome essays written to fulfill course requirements.


We will give special consideration to essays that demonstrate, not only academic excellence, but practicable wisdom, and a love of the communion of the Church in Jesus Christ, the Wisdom of God.


We will accept one entry per person.

Essays must not exceed word count. 


Deadline: July 31, 2025


Prizes:


1st Place: $500

2nd Place: $250

3rd Place: $175


Prize amounts are in USD.


Students may send essays in Word file format to events@livingchurch.org no later than July 31, 2025.


Entries should include the student’s full name, postal and email address, and the name and address of the student’s school.
